The City Clerk is the custodian of city records and is the authorized official responsible for candidate filings and submission of certifications and other information related to municipal elections to the St Louis County Board of Election Commissioners.

The responsibilities of the City Clerk’s Office include:

  • Prepare and maintain the minutes of City Council proceedings.
  • Process and issue business and liquor licenses.
  • Accounting and financial maintenance of all city funds.
  • Preparation of annual budget to be approved by City Council.
  • Department supervisor for building maintenance and building & health inspectors and judicial department.
  • Publishing public notices and advertisements.

The daily business office is handled by Sheree Leamon, the Asst. City Clerk. In the absence of myself she is authorized to conduct matters except those that may be prohibited by statute or ordinance.
